Alexander Bah, the new head coach of Benfica, has been named as the replacement for Jorge Jesus who left the club to take up the position at Manchester United.

Bah, who previously worked as the manager of Celta de Vigo in Spain, was appointed by the Portuguese giants on Tuesday afternoon.

The 46-year-old will be tasked with leading the team back to their former glory days under Jesus' reign and ensuring that they compete for major honours this season.

Bah's appointment comes just days after the departure of Jesus, who led the club to four consecutive league titles and two European Cups during his time in charge.

The Brazilian coach had signed a three-year contract with Manchester United last week,Football Regional Port but he made it clear that he wanted to continue his coaching career in Europe.

Bah's appointment has been welcomed by many fans of the club, who believe that he will bring a fresh approach to the team and help them achieve success once again.

Despite the departure of Jesus, Benfica still has a strong squad of talented players, including star striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who has already scored six goals in pre-season matches.
