After months of speculation and negotiations, Portuguese football club Benfica has announced that they have signed Brazilian forward João Mário to their squad for the upcoming season.

The 27-year-old forward, who is known for his technical skills and goal-scoring ability, joins the Lisbon-based team after spending time with several top clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Mário began his career at São Paulo FC before moving to Germany to play for Borussia Dortmund. He then moved to Manchester United where he spent three seasons before joining Real Madrid in 2019. In his time at Real Madrid, Mário won the La Liga title in 2019-20 and also scored in the Champions League final against Chelsea.
