Liu Yang, also known as the "Moon Man," is one of China's most accomplished astronauts. Born on March 28, 1975, he began his career at the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Institute of Space Technology in 1996 and has since become one of the most successful Chinese astronauts.

Liu Yang was born into a family of engineers, but he quickly became fascinated by space exploration. He started working for the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1994 and was later promoted to the position of deputy director of the institute's space technology department. In 2002, Liu Yang received his bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from Tsinghua University.

In 2006, Liu Yang joined the Shenzhou V mission team and became the first Chinese astronaut to travel beyond Earth's atmosphere. This marked the beginning of China's manned space program. Since then, Liu Yang has been involved in numerous missions, including the Shenzhou X spacecraft that landed safely on Mars in February 2015.

He has won several awards and honors, including the National Medal of Science and Technology and the China State Council科学技术奖Primeira Liga Hotspots。He has also been honored with the Order of the Golden Bauhinia Star (the country's highest military decoration) and the Order of the Golden Medallion of the People's Republic of China (the country's highest national honor).
